Strength – Day 9

Day Nine:  Strength

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” –Ephesians 6:10

“As your days, so shall your strength be.” –Deuteronomy 33:25

 Here We go_ (1)

There’s a plane in the air today, somewhere between home and Central America.  We hugged our people and turned them loose, and I can just see the caravan of faces covered in bright neon green t-shirts, carrying backpacks and duffel bags, ready to go.  How many times did we check for passports, running shoes, toiletries, flashlights, and water bottles?  How many last minute runs did we make to Walmart for the items we forgot off the checklist?  How many times did we hug the people we love, because we are building up the courage to go and do this thing?

Whether we are a missionary or mission support this year, let’s not forget who we are or whose we are:

Strong.  We are strong in the Lord today.

Bold.  We are bold to do the work  He has called us to do.

Brave.  We are brave to step out of our comfort zone and step forward.

Confident.  We are confident, not in our own ability, but in the power and might of a strong and mighty God.

Today, and each day as we step into our calling, let us consider the strength of the God we serve and step out unswervingly in His name.

Let’s pray:

“God we’re so thankful for who You are and what You are doing this week.  Thank you that you provide health and strength for each day.  The joy of the Lord is our strength.  Thank you for Your wisdom and discernment as we serve the body of Christ this week.  We are Your hands and feet, and all we do is give You glory, Lord.  In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.”
