Week 3: Preserve
Day 15: The Blessing
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
2 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.” –Genesis 12:1-2 (NIV, BibleGateway.com)
13-14” Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God’s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it.”—Galatians 3:13-14 (The Message; BibleGateway.com)
“You will be a blessing.” What a beautiful promise from a Holy God. Didn’t we experience that this week? We are blessed, and we pray that our prayers, our serving, this ministry has been a blessing. It’s the last day. Our mission team is heading home today. We can’t wait to hear about their journey—what happened in this small corner of the world and what changed inside their hearts because of it. We thank God for the blessing of the Gospel. He is good. With grateful heart, let’s say this prayer today:
“Dear Lord, we thank you for the mission team today. We thank you for the opportunity to serve. Thank you for the people of this mission country, and we thank you for each one that has come to know You because of this week. You are good and do good. There is no one else like You. Lord, preserve the blessing this week, we pray. Stir up the Gospel and the love of Your presence in each heart. May lives forever be changed because of Your Word. We love you, Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.”
