Day Sixteen: The Story
“When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” 3 The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad.”—Psalm 126:1-3 (NKJV; BibleGateway.com)
God has this wonderful habit of interrupting our lives. He interrupts our spiritual bondage with His presence, our brokenness with His healing, and our captivity with His freedom. I’m so thankful for the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, because now we can have a relationship with God. We can spend time with Him and lay our lives open before Him.
Wait for it.
Wait on Him.
When He interrupts our normal, everyday humanity—great things happen.
And we are glad.
I hope that God has interrupted your “everyday” through this mission trip and 21 days of prayer. As we wind up this week, I’m praying that you will preserve “The Story”. Write it down, tell it, let someone know what God has done in your life. When we share how God has made your story a part of His story, it encourages others. And we are glad!
“God, we thank you for making us a part of Your wonderful story—sharing Your Gospel of grace, salvation through Jesus Christ—with a broken world. We take joy in You today and Your presence. We open our lives to You, Your Son Jesus, and Your precious Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct our lives. Our lives and our stories are safe in Your hands. We love You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen.”
